No longer is Therapeutic Massage considered a luxury, it is in high demand for an aternative medical treatment and recognized by insurers as a health treatment.  A.C.I. Career College offers a course which meets state requirements for certification.

As a certified TM, your employment opportunities expand into a range that you probably don't even realize!  Therapeutic Massage certification has lead our graduates into their own private practices, rehabilitation centers, physician's offices as well as spas and salons. Often times this certification is added to an existing certification such as CNA, LVN, Esthetician, Cosmetology.  Dual licensure further secures your financial future.

Medical patients are turning to Therapeutic Massage more frequently for an alternative treatment.  Neurological conditions, physical rehabilitation needs and even pain management  are responsive to touch therapy.  This means future employment in major hospitals, private practices and or long term rehabilitation facilities. Therapeutic Massage is now covered by many healthcare insurance companies allowing Therapists the opportunity to provide services to those that wouldn't normally be able to afford them.

Graduates of this program find themselves launched into a dream career.  Financial stability is often gained shortly after certification.  Those that have performed services in our on site clinic began building their clientele prior to graduation!

New State of California regulations require 500 hours classroom instruction, while the City of Modesto requires 600.  Our course offers 720 hours of instruction to better prepare you for your future career.  You want to begin your career having as many instructional hours as possible.  All therapists face future need for continuing education, it is part of the requirements for licensure.  Having 720 hours, opposed to the typical 500 or 600 training hours  leaves your valuable time free for actual practice rather than having to constantly gain more hours of training.

The objective of A.C.I. Career College, Inc. Massage Therapy course is to provide a sound educational environment for instruction and training to equip graduates for entry level jobs as massage therapy specialists. This is accomplished through approximately one half of the course consisting of lecture/demonstration and one half hands on laboratory procedures.

Massage therapy is a service oriented career, providing the skilled application of a variety of massage techniques and modalities geared for helping to access what type of work would be most beneficial for the client/patient. The strong emphasis on anatomy and physiology will benefit the therapist in understanding movement and dysfunction. Business skills include marketing, office procedures, charting, and client communications.

This course offers complete education on law and ethics, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and principles of therapeutic massage. Therapeutic modalities as adjuncts to Swedish Massage, connective tissue massage, Shiatsu, chair massage, reflexology, sports massage, hydro therapy and spa therapy techniques.

Occupational outcomes for which the graduate may qualify include entry level work in the graduates’ private practice or in various offices of physicians, chiropractors, hospitals, health spas, medical clinics and physical therapists.

Education is provided through a curriculum consisting of 6 progressive modules to be completed in approximately 36 weeks or less. The on-site salon offers A.C.I. Career College students the opportunity to perform services for the purposes of completing internship and externship hours under the supervision of an instructor.
